I am a Senior Researcher at the University of Bern. My research focuses on privacy and anti-money laundering considerations in digital currencies, including both decentralized cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin and privacy-enhanced alternatives) and centrally managed systems such as Central Bank Digital Currencies. A key aspect of my work is exploring how modern cryptographic techniques and emerging AI solutions may balance individual privacy with necessary regulatory oversight. I aim to contribute to the development of secure, equitable, and trustworthy digital payment infrastructures that respect privacy rights while supporting effective financial regulation in the digital economy.
